Drugs and alcohol – getting help

Free and confidential support is available in Islington.

In Islington, treatment and support for people affected by drug and alcohol use, and their families, is provided by Better Lives. Better Lives is delivered by North London NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Waythrough. 

You can access confidential information, advice, assessment and a comprehensive range of treatments free of charge to Islington residents. 

The Better Lives Family Service can also support those with families affected by their substance use, and other family members themselves (see website for details: Better Lives Family Service – Waythrough).  

Better Lives offer support and treatment at three locations in Islington. The easiest way to speak to a professional is to walk-in to the Better Lives sites on Seven Sisters Road or Gray’s Inn Road. You can get advice and be assessed on the day.
